Find your way back.

Step out of the noise.

Make a little space for yourself.

There are many ways back.

Maybe one of them is yours.

The Way Back offers gentle experiences through writing, reflection, nature, and connection—ways to slow down, get curious, and make a little space to hear yourself again.

What do you need a little more of?

Journal to the Self®

Not really a writing course. A six-week journaling method for working through big feelings, big decisions, and everyday life.

You leave with: a set of journaling techniques you’ll use for the rest of your life, six weeks of pages that show you something about yourself, and the confidence to sit down with a blank page and know where to begin.

Small groups, six weeks, and no journaling experience needed. Want to be the first to know? Message me at hello@thewaybackcollective.co. Interested in joining from somewhere else? Online groups are available by request.

Forest Walks

A guided invitation to slow down and experience the natural world with more attention.

You leave with: a calmer, clearer head, simple ways into the quiet that you can return to on your own, and the knowledge that it’s possible to get there.

Writers’ Circle

A small writing group, guided by me. Prompts and exercises that stretch you, plus time to work on your own pieces.

You leave with: new pages you didn’t expect to write, exercises you can come back to on your own, honest feedback from people who care about writing, and a reason to keep showing up to the page.

Sound Walks

A slow, mostly silent walk where we pay attention to what we hear.

You leave with: a quieter mind, a new way of listening to places you thought you knew, and a practice you can take anywhere, even onto a busy street.

Stay and Reflect

45 minutes of guided journaling after a walk, to capture what you noticed while it’s still fresh.

You leave with: a few pages that hold the morning better than any photo could, a clearer sense of what the walk stirred up, and a way to find that feeling again on days when it seems far away.

In their words

“I liked being together quietly and stopping to experience it all together.

I stayed for the reflection. I like writing to begin with but it was nice writing about all the things i saw instead of having another picture that I’ll never look at again.

I noticed how i would rush and then consciously slow myself down. I liked hearing other people of our geoup breathe deeply. And how friendly the portuguese outside our geoup passed by.

Also, you did an amazing job at the stopping points. I feel like there were distinct sounds that perfectly matched what your prompt was in those moments.

I would definitely do this again.”

“I recently joined Casey’s Writing Circle. Not knowing what to expect, I was thoroughly delighted and satisfied. Casey is a skilled facilitator and a joyful participant. She not only brought together a group of strangers; she created an environment where we quickly became trusted friends. I am grateful to be a part of this journey and look forward to continuing to be inspired by Casey’s talents and experience. Her commitment to providing a fulfilling practice for her participants is infectious.”

Jane

“This writing club is a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment in which one can share their creativity with like minded individuals. I felt comfortable in this casual environment and was thrilled to freely discuss writing in all its forms in both the abstract and the specific. I would recommend this club if you have a genuine passion for creative expression through writing, and – of course – the time to attend.”

Why The Way Back?

I’ve often been the strong one. The independent one. The person people assume will be okay because, one way or another, I’ll handle it.

And I do.

But I know that being able to handle something doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. It doesn’t mean you don’t get tired. And it doesn’t mean you don’t need somewhere to put what you’re carrying.

Writing, time outside, books, quiet, creativity, and real connection have all been ways I’ve taken care of myself through grief, change, uncertainty, and some of the hardest chapters of my life.

They haven’t given me all the answers.

They’ve helped me stay connected to myself while I find my way through.

That’s why I created The Way Back: to make more spaces where we can turn down everyone else’s voices for a while, tend to ourselves, get curious, and hear our own again.

The Way Back

Many of us long for depth, but we’ve become accustomed to speed.

We live in a world that moves quickly.

We move from one responsibility to the next, rarely giving ourselves time to pause, reflect, or simply notice what is here. In a world that often rewards constant productivity and distraction, slowing down can feel unfamiliar—even though many of us quietly long for it.

More presence. More meaningful connection. More creativity. More time in nature. More opportunities to hear ourselves think.

There are no perfect answers to find and no expectation to become someone new. Only an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and return to what has been there all along.
